Utility Stores Corporation (USC) Managing Director Brigadier Hafeez Ahmed (Retd) here on Sunday night termed the relief package a tremendous one, announced by the government under the Ramazan package to the people specially the poor segment of the society.
Talking to newsmen here, the USC MD said the prices of pulses at utility stores was Rs 47 per kilogram, while in the open market it was available for Rs 60 per kilogram. Similarly, he said the price of Baisan was Rs 59 per kilogram at utility stores outlets, while the rate of the commodity in the market is Rs 80 per kilogram. Brigadier Hafeez Ahmed said Atta (flour) was available at USC outlet eight to nine rupees less than the market. Similarly, he added that quality Ghee at USC outlets was available at Rs 110 per kilogram while in the open market it was at Rs 140 per kilogram.
