Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 125,267 tonnes of cargo including 91,192 tonnes of import, 34,075 tonnes of export cargo and 5,538 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The freights comprised of 63,868 tonnes of dry cargo including 42,563 tonnes of general cargo; 21,305 tonnes of bulk cargo and 61,399 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
Seven ships sailed out to sea during the reported period. Six vessels are currently at the berths. Seven ships expected to sail on Monday while another eight vessels are expected to sail on Tuesday. Six vessels due to arrive on Monday while another nine ships are due to arrive on Tuesday.

The cargoes comprised of 39,969 tonnes of furnace oil; 5,300 tonnes of palm oil; 6,006 tonnes of wheat; 12,400 tonnes of coke; 6,178 tonnes of chemicals; 940 tonnes of cement 6,576 tonnes of containerised cargo. Four vessels viz MT Chemroute Sun, CV MSC Scotland, CV Bux Lagoon and MT Sea Lion sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while another two ships namely MV ST. Mark and MT Sinar Agra are expected to sail on Monday.
A total of nine ships namely MSC Rosa-M, Hellenic Horizon, Mare Atlantic, DL Aster, Med Salvador, Energy Falcon, Mustafa Bay, Captain Markos and Babi Tonga carrying cement, rape seed, crude oil, coke, coal, furnace oil and chemicals respectively are currently at the outer anchorage.
Nine vessels viz CV MSC Scotland, CV Bux Lagoon, MV Bernica, MV Orient-II, ST. Mark, MT Chem Star Hero, MT Sea Lion, MT Sinar Agra and MV Gem of Rozi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, palm oil, Furnace oil, chemicals and coke respectively during last 24 hours.
Four ships namely CV MSC Rosa-M, MT Mare Atlantic, MT DL. Aster and MV Mustafa Bay expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOFCO Trrminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Monday. Three vessels viz MT Prem Pride, CV Maersk Deva and MT Chemroad Luna are due to arrive on Monday. Six ships namely Maersk Carolina, San Andres, Karolina, Al-Salam-II, Toto and Pos Dignity carrying containers, iron Ore, diesel oil and coal are also due to arrive.
