Recognising the urgent need for an integrated development package to face the current economic challenges, a high level panel of economists of the country has been formed in the Planning Commission (PC). The panel is also tasked to assist in the preparation of the next five-year development plan, said a press release here on Wednesday.
The panel is headed by Dr Hafiz A. Pasha, former Advisor Finance to the Prime Minister and Former Deputy Chairman Planning Commission. He is currently Dean of Social Studies at the Beaconhouse University. Dr Rashid Amjad, Vice Chancellor, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics will serve as Convenor of the Panel.
Members of the panel include Dr M. Zubair Khan, Dr Akhtar Hassan Khan Professor Dr Akmal Hussain, Dr Kaiser Bengali, Dr Riazuddin, Dr Naved Hamid Dr Rehana Siddiqui, Dr Aisha Ghaus Pasha, Dr Toseef Ahmed, Dr Haris Gazdar, Dr Ali Cheema and Dr Asad Sayeed.
