Defence Day to be celebrated with zeal on September 6

The government of Pakistan has decided to celebrate defence day of Pakistan on September 06, across the country with zeal and fervour. The programmes formulated for the day would reflect national unity, integrity and solidarity of Pakistan in particular, says a press release issued here on Wednesday.
As per schedule, national flag will be hoisted on important public buildings. Similarly, Hilal-e-Istiqlal would also be hoisted in Lahore, Sialkot and Sargodha. In addition, Fateha Khawani would be offered at graveyards of the Shahuda and change of guards ceremony at Quaid's Mazar would be performed. Subsequently, wreaths would be laid on mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam by the PAF and Mazar of Allama Iqbal by HQ 4 Corps.
The celebrations also include special prayers for the preservation of the integrity and sovereignty of the homeland, "Bara Khana" for troops at unit and garrison level and issuance of special edition of Armed Forces magazine "Hilal" by ISPR Directorate. The press release added that wreaths would be laid on the graves of recipients of Nishan-e-Haider by or on behalf of the senior most Commander in the area.
