Gram prices fall sharply

Surprising but not shocking factor was seen on the grain market on Thursday as gram prices fell sharply in the month of Ramazan, when the poor masses hope in the rates, dealers said.
On the grams side, gram garda Punjab was lower by Rs 200 to Rs 4,300-4,600, yellow peas Canada lost Rs 150 to Rs 3,650-3,900, yellow peas dall Canada low type shed Rs 100 to Rs 4,100 and better type lost Rs 150 to Rs 4,300 in process of trading, they said.
Beetle China No 1 lost Rs 250 to Rs 4,600-4,900, beetle 50x50 fell by Rs 200 to Rs 4,400-4,700 and daal beetle inferior type was down by Rs 500 to Rs 5,700 and good type shed Rs 40 to Rs 6,000, they said. On the rice side, Irri-6 Sindh quoted lower at Rs 3,100-3,200, said dealers, adding that the prices may move both ways in the coming days, they said.
On the seed side, cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh old low type lost Rs 60 to Rs 750 and best quality was lower by Rs 20 to Rs 800, they said. Other sectors held the overnight levels during the modest trading, they said.
