Security tightened in Islamabad

SSP Islamabad Captain Ahmad Latif (Retd) has directed all the Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs) and Station House Officers (SHOs) to further tighten security and ensure comprehensive foolproof arrangements during the month of Ramazan. He said that mosque committees should keep open only one gate of worship places during the prayer timings in the month of Ramazan.
Mosque committees have been asked to conduct checking through metal detectors and deploy private security guards at the worship places. SSP Islamabad further directed the police officials to launch especial drive against the professional beggars and they should not be allowed to gather outside the worship places.
Mosque committees would also not allow any stranger outsider to stay in worship places. Further, the police officials were directed to carry out special checking in hotels, motels, inns and guesthouses for security purpose.
Meanwhile, property dealers were directed to furnish the record of tenants to the SHOs of their respective areas. Moreover checking at the exit and entry points is intensified without causing any embarrassment to the citizens. Similarly, the directives have been issued to enhance patrolling and exercise strict vigilance. Citizens are advised to contact Rescue 15 in case of any unclaimed luggage or any suspicious person.
