The Capital Development Authority (CDA) is likely to cancel the 4.2 acres plot allotted to Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) at Faizabad for construction of office complex, for which the CDA has demanded 92 million as cost of land.
The summary for payment of the cost of land to CDA has been sent to Ministry of Interior, but the civic body is now making all-out efforts to cancel the allotment of the said plot and offering an alternative space to ITP in H-11 for construction of the ITP office complex, Zubair Hashmi, Senior Superintendent ITP told Business Recorder.
He said that no doubt the plot allotted r to ITP is situated at a prime location near Faizabad flyover, which suits the department being a central place, Hashmi said, adding that it is also a very lucrative site for construction of commercial buildings, which may fetch CDA Rs millions. Hashmi claimed that some vested interests are behind the move to cancel the plot and the CDA is unable to resist them.
"We have moved to courts and got stay order against the CDA", he said, He said that the plot was allotted to ITP many years ago and the department was making efforts to get its PC-1 approved for starting construction of the complex as it is currently housed temporarily on a green belt in F-8, which is an illegal encroachment. He informed that the land was allotted to ITP for construction of the office, when the previous office complex situated at Faizabad was demolished for construction of the flyover.
