A meeting of the parliamentary party of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and its allies, held here on Friday, expressed full confidence in the leadership of PML-N and announced full support to the PML-N nominee in the presidential election scheduled for Saturday.
Sources in the PML-N told Business Recorder that as many as 34 MPAs of the PML-Q forward block in the Punjab Assembly led by Ata Muhammad Manika participated in the meeting and also expressed full confidence in the PML-N leadership. While addressing the meeting, the PML-N presidential candidate Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui apprised the legislators of the Punjab Assembly about his vision.
He also thanked Nawaz Sharif for choosing him as presidential candidate. Addressing the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Punjab government has not been given to us as a gift or as a favour but it was the masses who gave us their full mandate. He said "Ittehad Group is now a part of Muslim League-N and I have as much confidence in my friends as I have in myself."
Shahbaz said "we have been a part of ruling coalition for about five months but the way agreements were breached we were compelled to split in the larger interest of the country. We should maintain unity in our ranks and be prepared to face any challenge collectively." He said that PML-N presidential candidate Saeed uz Zaman Siddiqui believes in supremacy of law and he is a symbol of federation. Shahbaz said Siddiqui set an example of supremacy of law by refusing to take oath from a dictator and even sacrificed his post.
