Chairman Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan has said that the nation will not accept Asif Ali Zardari as president, who has been blamed for corruption of "Rs 100 billion". Addressing a rally here on Friday he said that his party would continue supporting the deposed judges till their restoration.
He said that man who has been blamed for corruption not by Nawaz Sharif and Musharraf but also by his party, is now running for presidency. He accused Zardari of corruption of Rs 100 billion, adding Musharraf has cleared him of the charges through NRO, which is not acceptable to the nation.
Imran Khan maintained that US had replaced Musharraf with Zardari, adding the and US have changed only actors. He demanded that before Zardari'election as presided he should be tried by an independent judiciary for the corruption charges.
Imran said that present government demonstrated irresponsible behaviour regarding FATA issue. "In Waziristan and Bajaur Agency, the situation is goring from bad to worse with each passing day", he added. He said that it was not the first time that foreign forces made incursion into our territory and brutally killed innocent citizens, he lamented while referring to the "Angoor Adda" incident.
