Privatisation violates 1968-69 manifesto of PPP

Munir Ahmad Khan senior leader of PPP addressing a press conference here Sunday has voiced demand for halt of privatisation of national assets. He said this policy was in contradiction of 1968-69 manifesto of the party that was put before the nation by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto founder chairman of the party.
Khan who was accompanied by Aziz-ur-Rehman Chan party president Lahore and Mushtaq Awan senior party leader averred that with Asif Ali Zardari elected as president of the country there would be a boost in foreign investment in the country.
He said Zardari elected as president will ensure stoppage of flight of capital and would stabilise country's economy. The PPP leaders requested upon the newly elected president of the country to take immediate steps to curb rising inflation.
Munir said masses were under severe pressure of inflation and with a dynamic president at helm of affairs measures were expected to rein in this menace.
Khan said they were still for inquiry into shahadat of Benazir Bhutto (BB) by UNO and said that they had not abdicated this demand. He demanded that criminals involved in killing of BB should be penalised and immediate action taken in the matter. The PPP leaders on instructions of President elect Asif Ali Zardari distributed sweets amongst inmates of Kot Lakhpat jail during the day.
