Citizens concerned over high prices of edibles

Citizens here have expressed concern over the price hike during the holy month of Ramazan in district Khanewal. Citizens- Malik Umar, Muhammad Zakariya, Shiekh Latif and Mian Akram demanded that District Administration must take notice of self-raised prices by traders.
According to a market survey, banana was being sold at Rs 60 per dozen, grapes at Rs 140 per kilogram, apples at Rs 70. Similarly dates were being sold at Rs 110 per kg. The same trend has also been seen in the sale of vegetables as potatoes were being sold at Rs 36 per kg, onion at Rs 30 per kg and lemons at Rs 100 per kg. Other items, especially pulses, were sold also sold at high prices. Citizens have demanded stringent measures for controlling daily use items' prices, especially of the edibles.
