The people hope that the newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari would take care of sky rocketing prices and growing terrorism incidents in the country and he would take measures to provide relief to the masses. People from various walks of life and social set-up expressed satisfaction over the fair transition to democracy from dictatorship.
"I think there are multidimensional challenges for Zardari," Nasir Abbas Zaidi, a local said. People are worried about the price-hike and expecting decrease in the prices of various commodities. "If the government failed to control the prices of daily use items then the PPP's slogan of Roti, Kapra aur Makan will proved false," Nagina Javed, a housewife told this scribe.
The intelligentsia of the country is worried about the foreign policy of the country and they want a change in the foreign policy and the democratic government decision about war on terrorism. "We expect that there will be a new strategy to bring out the country from this bloodiest war," Abdul Haseeb, a student said. "Now everything will be alright and we are quite hopeful about the future of the country," said another student.
