World Bank team to visit Karachi RTO, LTU on September 15

The World Bank delegates, who arrived on an official tour in Islamabad on Monday, will also visit Karachi Regional Tax Office (RTO) and Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) to discuss several tax related issues for the betterment of the taxation mechanism. Official sources in Regional Tax Office (RTO) told Business Recorder that the delegation started its tour with a meeting with Ahmad Waqar, Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
They said that the two members of the delegation, Silvani and Biber would visit Karachi RTO and LTU on September 15 and added that the core agenda would be FBR reforms and Tax Facilitation Campaign (TFC), which would formally be inaugurated by the chairman, FBR on September 16. They said that the delegates would spend three days of their visit in meeting Director General (DG) Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU), Islamabad, DG RTO, Islamabad and other heads.
They said that the delegation plans to meet several members of FBR including tax policy, sales tax, customs, direct tax, information, admin, legal, human resources, CEO, PRAL, Director General Intelligence and Investigation (DGI&I) and other officials during the 16-days tour.
They said that the World Bank delegates would also submit recommendations and suggestions to the finance minister on the conclusion of their official visit, which would help FBR to achieve its target for the current fiscal year.
