Arabica coffee and US cocoa futures dropped in early trade on Tuesday, as longs liquidated positions on the heels of weak outside markets, traders said. Arabica coffee for December delivery was down 2.15 cents at $1.4085 per lb, by 9:10 am EDT (1310 GMT), in dealings from $1.4035 to $1.432.
The rest ranged from 0.25 to 2.20 cents lower. Benchmark December cocoa was $25 lower at $2,553 a tonne, by 9:11 am, moving from $2,544 to $2,595. One contract aside, the rest down from $19 to $27.
