An application has been filed in the Lahore High Court (LHC) demanding to constitute a new bench to hold proceedings in a petition challenging the eligibility of Punjab Chief Minister, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. The applicant Shahid Orakzai submitted that the full bench on July 31 did not grant interim relief to stay polling in PP-10 Rawalpindi, from where Mian Shahbaz Sharif was contesting election.
Moreover, he said that the court gave no reason for denying the interim relief when no other party was opposing the said relief. He said the court also did not issue notice to the respondent.
