Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik has said that the PML-N government in Punjab would not be destabilised under any circumstances. He said this during a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif here on Friday. Malik said that both the PPP and PML-N should cooperate with each other in centre and Punjab and efforts aimed at destabilising the parties must be discouraged.
Sources told Business Recorder that Shahbaz during the meeting expressed displeasure over the activities of Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer. He also told Malik that the PML-N government in Punjab is not facing any threat and it will continue to work for the public welfare.
Malik said on the occasion that the PPP intends to take along all political forces in the prevailing political scenario and would promote democratic norms in the country. Shahbaz also said that the PML-N is waging a just struggle on the basis of principles and would perform its obligations in the larger national interests.
