LHC issues notices to DCO, others

14 Sep, 2008

The Lahore High Court issued notices and sought reply from District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Sialkot, Executive District Officer (Education) and Secretary Schools and Education Punjab by September 22, in a petition of a school headmaster Fazal Karim challenging his frequent transfers and suspension against court's orders.
The petitioner submitted that he was performing his duties as headmaster in Government Pilot Secondary School Sialkot. DCO and EDO (education) with mala fide intention made his successive transfers from one school to another. The LHC had barred the respondents from disturbing the petitioner till the final decision of the petition.
Petitioner stated that the respondents stopped his salary, initiated an inquiry against him and subsequently suspended him, which was sheer violation of court's directions. Petitioner prayed to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondents and direct them to restore his salary and job status as well.
