Shahbaz praises PML-N workers for role in promotion of democracy

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif here on Sunday applauded the role of PML-N workers for the cause of democracy in the country while giving away medals and certificates to them for their role in upholding this cause.
Addressing a largely attended convention of party workers, he announced that Roti would be available at Rs 2 throughout Punjab within the next two days.
He said that by the present provincial government's efforts, flour pack was now available for Rs 300. The Chief Minister said that by doing colossal corruption, the last government had subjected the masses to the atta crisis.
On dispensation of justice, he said that people were demanding early and economic justice without which no civilised society could move forward. Shahbaz stressed that if the country was to be saved then steps for poverty alleviation and provision of justice were essential.
He said that whatever conspiracies came from Pervez Musharf, now the same were being hatched against him, and added that efforts were being made to involve them in various cases. About the present political scenario he said that from PML-N no step would occur that would derail democracy.
He promised that those workers who were not given certificates or medals on the occasion were assured of delivery of these in near future. He said that no worker who had given sacrifices for democracy would be ignored by the Party. Besides the workers, the Convention was addressed by senior party cadres from Punjab.
