Senior Vice President, Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Inayat Khan has requested Chairman Federal Bureau of Revenue (CBR) to extend the last date for submission of Income Tax Return to October 31.
In a press statement issued here on Tuesday, SVP SCCI said due to holy month of fasting and Eidul Fitr, it will be difficult for tax-payers to submit income tax return till September 31. Furthermore, he added, the business activity in country has shown a significant decrease due to prevailing law and order situation.
It is, therefore, he continued, requested to federal government and Chairman FBR to extend the last date for October 31. He said delay of a month would also generate more revenue for the government because after Ramazan, commercial activities would increase. Inayat Khan also appreciated opening of counter by Regional Tax Office Peshawar for submission of income tax return for the year 2008.
