Police have arrested a 'Ndrangheta mafia clan boss wanted over a Christmas day shooting in 2006 that killed the wife of a rival and injured three others, including a child, authorities said Thursday. Francesco Pelle, 32, also known as "Ciccio Pakistan", is suspected of ordering the killing in San Luca in Italy's southern Calabria region.
Police arrested Pelle, who lost the use of his legs in another attack believed to be related to the long war between two rival clans, on Wednesday at a clinic in Pavia in northern Italy. Investigators say the Christmas shooting led to a revenge attack outside a German pizza restaurant last year that left six presumed mafiosi gunned down.
