The Taiwan dollar fell to a 7 1/2-month low on Thursday as investor concerns over the global economy sent stocks sharply lower, but exporters, offshore investors and the central bank helped recoup some losses. The Taiwan dollar fell to an intraday low of T$32.284 to the US dollar in late trade.
It closed at T$32.218, down from T$32.082 a day earlier. Thursday's low and close were both the weakest since January 30.
