Special magistrates in Lahore deputed to control prices during last three days have challaned 329 shopkeepers for hoarding and selling flour at higher rates. According to a report submitted to DCO Sajjad Ahmad Bhutta on Friday 88 FIRs have been made against offenders while seven persons have been sent to prison for 3-5 day period for violations.
A total of Rs 4,17,000 penalty has been levied on the persons arrested and proceeded against under law during operations. DCO Lahore meanwhile has also issued instructions to make a crack down on owners of tandoors selling 'Roti' at higher rates than Rs 2 per Roti.
