The President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Raja Zulqarnian Khan has lauded the role of Pakistan Army after the October 8 earthquake termed it unprecedented. Talking at a farewell Iftar dinner hosted by him in honour of General Officer Commanding (GOC) Murree, Major General Zaheer-ul-Islam on Thursday he said that Pak Army carried out relief and rescue operations setting an example for the world.
The president said that Pak Army always accepted challenges whenever it was given the task to meet the demand of the nation and that was why Army always stood best to bring the country out of crisis whether it is to fight on borders or to meet natural calamities.
AJK President observed that the nation was passing through a critical juncture and there is a dire need to create unity among our ranks. He said that Pak Army like ever before, would not step back in serving the country, as it is equipped with modern equipment and patriotism.
The Iftar was also attended by the AJK Prime Minister, Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, AJK legislative Assembly speaker, Shah Ghulam Qadir, AJK opposition leader, Sardar Qamar-uz-Zaman, Deputy speaker, Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir, senior Minister, Malik Muhammad Nawaz, newly appointed GOC Murree, Major General Maqsood Ahmed and cabinet ministers.
