Quack's clinic closed, case registered

The Health Regulatory Authority (HRA) NWFP has closed down clinic of a quack medical practitioner Dr Muhammad Tariq at Izzat Khan Chowk, Swati Gate, Peshawar. According to detail, inspection team of HRA headed by Dr Ahmad Ali following a complaint raided the said clinic.
The HRA team found that the clinic was being run by a fake medical practitioner without having a degree from any Medical Institute. The quack, Muhammad Tariq, who had inscribed MBBS, FRCS, MD and MPH degrees on his signboard, could not produce an authentic proof of his credentials. The HRA team sealed the clinic and registered a case against the quake under Medical Ordinance 2002.
It is worth mentioning that under the said ordinance a violator can be find up to Rs One million or can be subjected up to 7 years imprisonment. A violator can also be subjected to both financial penalty and imprisonment at the same time. Moreover, the HRA has also issued warning to Shah Medical Hall, Kababian Warsak Road Peshawar for being run without a qualified person.
