An unmanned Iranian drone allegedly on a spying mission was shot down by a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) JF-17 Thunder fighter jet in Balochistan's Panjgur area, approx 45km inside Pakistan territory, according to Dawn News.
In the Parom area of Panjgur district, the Iranian aircraft was reported to have entered "deep inside Pakistani airspace" on a spying mission.
The time when drone was shot down is still unknown however the security forces have taken custody of the wreckage after it was found on Monday.
Meanwhile on early Tuesday, another armed Iranian drone was shot down in southern Syria by US F-15 jet.
Iran's army chief recently warned that Tehran would strike 'militant safe havens' inside Pakistan after 10 Iranian border guards were killed by militants allegedly from across the border earlier this year.
Iranian army chief's remarks drew a strong protest from Islamabad.
Pakistan has recently stepped up border security in an attempt to better check cross-border movement of suspected terrorists.
