Member Direct Taxes, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Irfan Nadeem has said that FBR was committed to facilitate business communities and urged the taxpayers to submit their tax returns by September 30.
He was addressing a function held here at Regional Tax Office Peshawar by cutting the ribbon to inaugurate the Income Tax Counter here in Income Tax Office, says a press release issued here on Sunday.
Scores of income tax counters in all major cities of the country have been opened for the facilitation of taxpayers and guidance of business community, he added.
Director General Regional Tax Office Mrs Abida Ali and others senior officers of FBR and income tax department were present on the occasion. He said that six counters have already been established in various localities of Peshawar showing highly encouraging results.
Irfan Nadeem said the counters would receive income tax returns where active and well-informed staff will provide necessary guidance to taxpayers to save their valuable time.
The official urged the taxpayers to take full advantage of the facilities extended by FBR and submit their income tax returns at earliest to avoid complications. It may be mentioned here that the last date for submission of the income tax return is September 30.
Later, talking to reporters, Irfan Nadeem while explaining the salient features of ambitious Investment Tax Scheme (ITS) said that under this scheme, a taxpayer can declare his property by paying only two percent tax on his revocable or irrevocable property. The taxpayers can avail this scheme up to December 31.
Earlier, upon his arrival, he was warmly received by DG RTO Peshawar Mrs Abida Ali and other senior officers of the department. Later he visited different sections of the department and issued necessary instructions.
