35 Dengue virus affected patients hospitalised

The number of dengue virus affected persons reached 35 in various parts of Balochistan, health sources said on Sunday. Sources said about 35 people were brought to the hospitals of the provincial capital, which were found dengue virus positive.
Sources said most of the patients belonged to Qilla Saifullah, Loralai and Musa Khel near Pak-Afghan border.
Incharge Dr Abdul Jabbar said a separate ward has been allotted for the treatment of the dengue virus patients and clear increase has been registered in this disease this year, which cause death of six persons during last five months. He said an important reason to cause and spread this disease is a tick, found in animals, which can be controlled by spraying the animals. It may be mentioned here that about 21 persons had been killed in 2005 due to dengue virus in north-east of the province.
