'Fair play always has its own rewards even if the game is lost, while victory hold no value, if achieved unfairly or dishonestly therefore, one must nurture courage and character to be a fair player.' The General Secretary, Pakistan Football Federation (PFF), Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Khan Yar Lodhi (Retd) said this in a function organised to mark the 12th Fifa Fair Play Day in Lahore. Coaches, working under the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) AID-27 Financial Assistance Scheme, organised the Fifa Fair Play Day while coaches from Pel, Asghar Khan Anjum and Shahzad Anwar arranged the event in Lahore.
Further, a soccer exhibition match was also played between Pel Red and Green wherein Red overwhelmed Green by 3-0. Hazoor Bakhsh, Asad Ullah and Din Badshah made the scores. The PFF President, Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat said in his message.
'Football is the world's greatest game that needs help from all corners to maintain its wide horizon. So, consider football's interests before your own. Act justly to raise the image of the game. Stay positive, encourage others to watch and play fairly.'Further, he urged footballers to be ambassadors of the game.'
