CCTV cameras installation: government takes security steps in capital, other parts of country

Federal Government has decided to take stringent security measures in capital and other parts of country to avoid any disruptive and terrorist activities in future.
The Red Zone of Islamabad including Constitution Avenue and Jinnah Avenue and sensitive government installation on these two roads was brought under vigil as government decided to install Close Circuit Televisions (CCTV) Cameras, detectors and other electronic gadgets to keep complete check on vehicular movement, sources told Business Recorder on Monday.
The decision was taken by the government after deadly suicide truck bombing incident in Marriott Hotel in which more than 60 people have been killed and over 200 injured, they said.
They said that the devices are being installed in the red zone area, which will help identify any car parked with explosive devices. These measures will help reduce the risk of any more suicide attack, they said. They said that a special cell has been set up in Interior Ministry which will monitor regularly these CCTVs and other gadgets for security in the capital.
