The Ministry of Law and Justice, on the direction of President Asif Ali Zardari, has appointed Khawaja Noor Mustafa as Multan Deputy Attorney General and Rana Javed Akhtar and Javed Iqbal Ansari as the standing counsels. The government has issued a notification, appointing 24 deputy attorney generals (DAGs) and standing counsels.
The DAGs appointed for Islamabad and Rawalpindi include Shah Khawar, Muhammad Amjad Iqbal Qureshi, Agha Tariq Mehmood Khan and Muhammad Arshad Tabrez. The standing counsels appointed for Islamabad and Rawalpindi include Muhammad Akhtar Awan, Raja Aleem Abbasi, Babar Ali and Attiqur Rehman Kiyani. Muhammad Nasim Kashmiri, Muhammad Ashraf Khan, Abid Hussain Saqi and Naveed Inayat Malik have been notified as the DAGs for Lahore, while Malik Karamat Ali Awan, Zubair Khalid and Muhammad Nawaz Waseer have been appointed as Lahore standing counsels. Khawaja Noor Mustafa has been notified as Multan DAG and Rana Javed Akhtar and Javed Iqbal Ansari as the standing counsels. Khan Muhammad Hussain Azad and Syed Ashfaq Hussain Bukhari have been appointed as the DAG and standing counsel for Bahawalpur respectively. Muhammad Iqbal Khan Mohmand and Muzammil Khan were appointed as DAGs and Faridullah Khan Kundi the standing counsel for Peshawar. Muhammad Afzal Jami has been notified as the DAG for Quetta.
