In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has welcomed consensus between Pakistan and India over initiating trade across Line of Control. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was talking to newsmen in Srinagar.
He said that Kashmiris should be provided travelling and business facilities without any restrictions and complications so that it could prove first and important step towards the resolution of Kashmir dispute, KMS reported. Earlier addressing a gathering at Saraibala in Srinagar, the APHC Chairman appealed the people to make the October 6 Lal Chowk March, announced by the Co-ordination Committee, a success.
"People should prepare for the day right from today and people from every nook and corner of the occupied territory should participate in the programme," he stressed. Condemning the arrests of youngsters, Mirwaiz said that youth had been arrested under Public Safety Act and intimidated for participating in peaceful protests and threatened not to participate in any such events in future, which is inhuman on the part of India.
He added that the rioters in Jammu who damaged public properties and attacked banks and police stations are roaming freely. Stating that situation in Jammu continues to be dangerous, the APHC Chairman said that the rioters were still targeting the Muslims of Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu, adding that resilience shown by the Muslims of Jammu region was appreciable.
Condemning recent desecration of Dastgeer Sahib Shrine by Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel, Mirwiaz said, "Sacrilege of the shrine is an inhuman act by the occupational forces and interference in our religious matters will never be tolerated."
