A nation-wide essay competition is being organised, Director of the Lahore-based National Museum of Science and Technology Sajid Anwar Malik stated this on Tuesday. The topic of the contest open to all is "How quality education for all is possible in view of less resources and large population of Pakistan".
The essay can be written either in English or Urdu with up to 1,500 words. For the students competition the topic is: "If paper was not invented." The students are required to contribute essay of up to 700 words in English or Urdu. There are three categories for the students- up to class VIII, class IX, X and class XI and above. The prize money for the winners in open category is Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs, 2,000 for the first three positions respectively.
For the students category, the prize money is Rs 2,000, Rs 1,000 and Rs 800 for the first three positions in each of the categories. The last date for the receipt of the entries is October 7. The students should send their essays through their heads of institutions. The entries can also be send through the email. The email address is nmst@brain.net.pk. The essay competition is being organised in collaboration with the Pakistan Science Foundation and Anjuman Brai Taleem, Lahore.
