President Asif Ali Zardari and his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai Wednesday vowed to have a higher degree of collaboration to jointly fight the scourge of terrorism that was jeopardising peace in the region.
The two leaders who met here on the sidelines of the 63rd UN General Assembly discussed in length the situation in the region and the need for having more collaborative efforts to improve co-ordination and communication between the two sides.
SARAH PALIN: Republican Vice Presidential Candidate Sarah Palin Wednesday called on President Asif Ali Zardari with a focus on Pakistan-US ties and the ongoing war on terror. President Zardari said it was an opportunity for him to discuss with the American candidates the challenges that his country faced in the war on terror.
He apprised Sarah Palin about the heavy cost Pakistan has paid in its role as a front line state. "President Zardari is engaging with all candidates as part of his effort to strengthen the US-Pakistan relationship," Ambassador Hussain Haqqani said.
