Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab Vice President Malik Muhammad Afzal Khokhar Malik has called upon President Asif Ali Zardari to raise his voice for protecting the interests of Pakistan during his visit to the US on Friday. He said Asif Zardari had to take the principled stance of Pakistan on various international issues with courage and steadfastness.
He also said the President had to convey loud and clear message to the world that international community had to change its polices to close the chapter of terrorism. "Poverty, backwardness and terrorism could be checked by working side by side. If illiteracy and economic problems of people were not addressed, poverty-hit people would turn to be terrorist," he added.
He urged the media to play its effective role to create awareness among people against social evils. He said President Asif Ali Zardari during his current visit to US must boldly project Pakistan view point on different issues, especially on war on terror clearly telling Washington that violation of territorial integrity would not be tolerated at any cost.
Asif Ali Zardari is elected President as such he has support of the whole nation, therefore he must make the US leadership realise that unlike Pervez Musharraf, political leadership of the country would never compromise on interests of the country. He said the international community would have to work together for alleviation of poverty and overcoming problem of ignorance and backwardness, as hunger and economic deprivations foment extremism.
