Graduation ceremony of Flight Safety Officers Course was held at the Institute of Air Safety, PAF Base, Masroor. Air Officer Commanding Southern Air Command, PAF Air Vice Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt was the chief guest on the occasion. The chief guest was received by Officer Commanding Institute of Air Safety, Air Commodore Ahmad Salam Khan.
The course comprised officers from Pakistan Armed Forces and friendly countries, which include Bangladesh, Niger, Sri Lanka, Sudan and Zimbabwe. A synopsis of the course was presented by Air Commodore Ahmad Salam Khan. He briefed the distinguished guests about the subjects taught and exercises conducted during the course.
The chief guest awarded certificates to the successful participants and awarded the Chief of the Air Staff Trophy to Squadron Leader Khurram Samad for best performance in the course. The chief guest, while expressing his views, emphasised upon the importance of safety in every aspect of the aviation industry.
He highlighted the significance of Flight Safety Officers in prevention of accidents. Stressing upon the role of FSOs, he said only sincere efforts, dedication and total commitment can help them to achieve a safer environment and this could only be possible if they adopted safety as a value in their lives.
