Parties urged to unite against terrorism

Senior Provincial Minister Raja Riaz Ahmed has said that terrorism can only be crushed and weeded out if all political parties, national leaders as well as political workers support the government in this gigantic task that threatens the country at its roots.
Talking to Members of Punjab Assembly, political workers and others on Friday, the minister underlined that the nation must unite and boldly face the enemies of the country. According to a handout, he said government was highly committed to national progress and eradicating extremism and ignorance at the earliest.
He stressed human rights found better protection in a democratic society, saying that our social values promoted peaceful co-existence and moderation. "In fact democracy is the strongest weapon against terrorism and extremism", he highlighted. He assured the visitors that government was using public funds with great care to ensure that people get all those facilities, which were needed for a decent living.
