US Gulf CIF corn and soyabean basis values held steady Monday amid little fresh export demand and tight supplies of empty barges, trader said. Declines in crude oil and a stronger US dollar seen pressuring CBOT grains, with corn called to open down 12 to 15 cents a bushel, soyabeans down 25 to 30 cents and wheat down 15 to 17 cents.
Traders expecting USDA late Monday to report US corn harvest at 12-14 percent complete, soyabeans 2-4 percent complete. Jordan tenders to buy 100,000 tonnes of hard wheat.
