Awami National Party (ANP) Chief Asfandyar Wali Khan sees foreign hand in the suicide attack against him in which 5 people have been killed and 13 others injured. Taliban have denied their involvement in suicide attack and there is no doubt that the foreign elements are responsible for this heinous crime, Asfandyar, who escaped an assassination attempt in Wali Bagh suicide attack on Thursday.
He also seen rift between different groups of Taliban saying that the statements of the local Taliban leaders - it is not our work rather it is the work of foreign elements - are giving clear indication of the rift between different groups of Taliban.
Asfandyar termed the formation of 'Tribal Lashkar' against the miscreants as good development saying that this move will surely yield positive results and help clean Pakistan from the miscreants. Things will now start moving in the right direction soon, he expressed optimism.
He reaffirmed his commitment to fight the menace of terrorism in a more effective manner, saying such cowardly acts could not deter the ANP from pursuing national policy to ensure peace and stability in the country. He said ANP's history was full of sacrifices and it was not afraid of such tactics.
Asfandyar termed the war against terrorism as Pakistan's own war saying "war against terrorism is our own. It is not the war of America". Terrorists are targeting innocent people of Pakistan and wanted to create unrest and instability in the country, he added.
To a question the ANP Chief termed the label of 'Mujahideen' given to these miscreants by previous governments during the Afghan-USSR war, as root cause of the present problem, Pakistan is facing. He said that just for the interests of some other countries, Pakistani government supported them and helped them to gain support in Islamic world.
