Land dispute claims five lives in Waziristan

Land dispute between two tribal groups on Sunday claimed the lives of persons and another three sustained injuries in restive North Waziristan Agency. An official of political administration said the bloody shootout occurred at Shewa village in Tehsil Mir Ali after failure of talks between Malik Wali Khan and Khankhel groups to settle the land dispute.
The warring groups started indiscriminate firing at each other with heavy weaponry and automatic weapons. The dead identified were Noor Khan, Sadiq, Posam and Shamim while Abdul Razzak and Munwwar Khan sustained critical bullet wounds. The local tribesmen shifted the injured to hospital. Political administration has started investigation.
