SDPI and Iges sign MoU for environmental sustainability

The Institute of Global Environmental Strategies (Iges), Hayama, Japan, and the Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Pakistan, on Monday inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for promoting environmental sustainability.
Iges Board of Directors Chairman Hironori Hamanaka and SDPI Executive Director Dr Abid Suleri signed the MoU for their respective organisations.
Masanori Kobayashi and Dr Mahmood A. Khwaja from IGES and SDPI would be focal persons for the programme activities.
The agreement aims at facilitating the operationalistion of the activities at the policy-making level for the Asia-Pacific Forum on Environment and Development (Apfed) to promote environmental sustainability.
The main activities encompasses policy dialogue, knowledge initiative and innovation showcase programme. The SDPI shall facilitate the exchange of information and collaborate in the areas of environmental management and sustainable development, particularly in Asia and the Pacific region.
