The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (Cima) conducted two events in Lahore as initiatives to leverage the increasing interest on the qualification.
CIMA, being the only international accounting body with a sole focus on management, conducted an interactive trainer program to enable the CIMA lecturers to obtain greater insights to the delivery of the CIMA qualification. On the same day a program on examination techniques and examiner expectations was conducted for CIMA students.
Pravinth Rajaratnam (ACMA-UK) senior lecturer and Director Academic Affairs of Imperial College, Sri Lanka was the resource person at these highly interactive sessions. The sessions covered the syllabus as well as the teaching and delivery methodologies.
The spokesperson for CIMA emphasised that education is the third space of life all professionals will invest time and money on and it is important that like all other investments, the investment in education also needs to be an "intelligent choice."
CIMA, which is completing ninety years in 2009, is a professional body incorporated by a Royal Charter. CIMA is a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) and adopts the International Accounting Standards in its curriculum.
