The National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP), Lahore, have made all necessary arrangements to ensure security and smooth flow of traffic on the occasion of Raiwind congregation. Sector Commander and SSP of NH&MP Shoaib Dastgir said reviewed the arrangements made for the Tablighi congregation at a meeting held here on Thursday.
All chief patrol officers of N-5 Central and M-2 Zone were also present on the occasion. He chalked out a contingency plan regarding the traffic arrangements during the congregation, while special arrangements would also be made during routine duty hours. Special static duties will be arranged at link roads leading to Raiwind.
The SSP further said that six extra patrol mobiles and patrolling officers would be deployed on patrolling duty during the Ijtima. Two recovery vans and ambulance would remain on high alert on N-5 Central and M-2 to attend any traffic blockage due to break down of any vehicle.
Dastgir also instructed the patrolling officers to make sure that no passenger would be allowed to travel on the roof of buses and no one would be allowed to stand at the door or climb on the rear stairs. He directed all the CPOs to provide every possible facility to the people coming to attend the Ijtima.
