Donates Rs 10 million for Benazir Income Support Programme: PTCL chief meets President

President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) Walid Irshaid on Thursday donated Rs 10 million on behalf of his organisation for Benazir Income Support Programme. The donation was made during his meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari here at Aiwn-e-Sadr on Thursday.
President Zardari appreciated the performance of PTCL and said that privatisation of the company has yielded fruitful results. The President said government would utilise all its resources to boost foreign investment and it will privatise fragile industries to save them from being bankruptcy.
He further said that hardworking staff and effective polices of the organisation have added to magnificent performance of PTCL. President Zardari said that government is also working on different projects in telecom sector to boost foreign investment. This would also help to overcome poverty and unemployment in the country, he added.
Irshaid said that PTCL is committed to provide its customers with best telecom services. He appreciated the government's measures to boost investment in telecom sector. The PTCL chief appealed to other organisations to come forward and donate generously for the programme.
