Lawyers hold protest rallies

The lawyers' community here on Thursday held an impressive show of their ongoing movement by observing boycott of courts and taking out protest rallies here in the provincial metropolis. The members Lahore Bar Association (LBA) after holding general house meeting joined the members Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) at main gate of the Lahore High Court.
Lawyers seemed to be much enthusiastic as they pledged to continue their struggle till the restoration of deposed Chief Justice of Pakistan. The amalgamated rally chanting slogans against President Asif Ali Zardari marched towards Governor House.
Activists of Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Jamat-e-Islami and Khaksaar Tehrik made their presence by holding their party flags. They chanted slogans in favour of deposed Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and demanded the government to restore all the deposed judges. They also chanted slogans against America and its operation in tribal areas of Pakistan. After registering their protest outside the governor house for about half an hour the lawyers returned to their respective bars. During the march the rally remained peaceful as no untoward incident took place.
