Hoax bomb call creates panic at Aisha Bawany Academy

A hoax bomb call resulted in an emergency drill for bomb disposal squad, volunteers of Hilal-e-Ahmar, Edhi, Cheepa and Saddar police who rushed to Aisha Bawani Academy (ABA) for search and rescue on Thursday morning. According to details, a hoax bomb call was received at around 11:10am by the school receptionist Alisha.
The caller said that a bomb was planted in the building, which spread panic among students, parents and teachers. School management immediately responded to it and evacuated both the buildings within a short span of time.
The bomb disposal squad and security officials immediately reached the spot for thorough checking of the premises. Munir Sheikh, senior official in bomb disposal squad told Business Recorder that they reached the spot within 10minutes of receiving information. He said that ABA has received three hoax bomb calls within a month. However, the management is not taking any serious action over these calls, he said and added that they do not even install caller ID phone to trace out the caller. He said that the bomb disposal squad cleared the premises after three hours of hectic search.
