Steps being taken for welfare of Baltistan people

Ministry of Social Welfare and Special Education is taking a number of steps for the welfare and support of the people and students of the remote areas of Baltistan, Skardu and Ghangche districts of Siachan and Kargil sectors of the country.
This was stated by Social Welfare Officer of Social Medical Project D.H.Qs Hospital Skardu Mohammad Bashir while talking to APP here on Sunday.
He said that three female doctors are being appointed in DHQs Hospital Skardu in BPS-18 with additional special pay of Rs 25,000 per month. Three free tickets of PIA would also be given annually as an incentive to the female specialist doctors.
He said that girls hostel facility would be provided in Girls College Skardu to facilitate the students of Baltistan. A bus for Public School and College Skardu has also been sanctioned by Women Division Islamabad.
Mohammad Bashir said that a teaching center would be established at a cost of Rs 12.5 million in Skardu to impart training to LHVs and LHWs for both districts of Skardu and Ghangche. He said that during the training all females students would be given scholarships on monthly basis.
