Vice President of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Fazal Jilani has urged the government to adopt far-reaching approach to overcome electricity crisis for protecting the industrial sector from total collapse. Talking to media persons here on Sunday he said alternative resources like solar energy and other means should be used for power generation in the country.
The business community was facing serious problems due to electricity load-shedding and expensive electricity, which led the cost of production to raise many folds, Jilani said.
Fazal Jilani further said that the construction of dams had become more imperative not only for the generation of electricity but also averting the threats of draught to the country.
Due to the prolong load-shedding the business community of this export-oriented city and hub of cottage industry was unable to fulfil its international deals easily. The foreign buyers are reluctant to give order to the Pakistani business community due to the prevailing load-shedding in the country, he pointed out.
The construction of dams has become vital for giving big boost to the agriculture and industrial sectors of the country and at this juncture dams are must to meet the future needs and requirements of water and power of the country he said.
SCCI Vice President was of the view that government should concentrate on the construction of maximum big and small dams in different areas of the country for fulfilling the future needs of water and power.
