Disaster management moot held

The Directorate of Animal Husbandry, Livestock and Fisheries Department, on the directive of the Minister Livestock. Abdul Haque Bhurt and Secretary, Livestock and Fisheries Department, Government of Sindh organised a seminar for livestock farmers at New Cattle Colony, Hyderabad on Sunday.
A press release issued by the Director, Animal Husbandry Sindh, Dr Ghulam Serwar Shaikh said that the event was aimed to create awareness on disaster management among livestock farmers.
Dr Tej Mal Singh, Dr Liaquat Ali Jat and Dr Mubarak Ahmed delivered lectures in the moot on different topics concerning hazards and risks in case of cyclone, storm, drought, earthquake, flood and landslide.
The press release further continued that farmers were also briefed about management of emergencies in case of fire and rain, while detailed discussions were conducted and a systematic approach towards Disaster risk Management was emphasised.
Further, it said that farmers participating in the moot showed their willingness and eagerness to bear the responsibilities in case of any natural calamity.
