China's Liang Wen-chong bounced back from a late slump to birdie the last two holes and snatch a one-shot win over Australia's Darren Beck in the $1 million Asian Tour Indian Open on Sunday.
Liang, 30, sealed his second win on the tour following success on the co-sanctioned 2007 Singapore Masters after late drama when he dropped three shots in two holes to allow Beck, who shot a superb seven-under 65, to gain a one-stroke lead.
The leader from day one with a four-shot lead with five holes to play, bogeyed the 14th and went two-over six on the next after finding the fairway bush on the par-72 Delhi Golf Club course.
However, Liang, who shot a course record 60 on the first day, coolly attacked the last two holes to card 70 for a winning aggregate of 16-under par worth $158,500.
"There are a number of young Chinese golfers who will see my win and tell themselves if I can do it why can't they," said the 2007 Asian Tour Order of Merit winner.
"This victory is certainly very important for me, it shows my skill levels are improving." Australian Adam Blyth was third after an even par last round, two shots ahead of India's Jeev Milkha Singh and Dutchman Guido Van der Valk, who carded identical 69s to be separated by a stroke for fourth and fifth respectively.
