Tariq for comprehensive briefing to parliamentarians on national issues

Pakistan Muslim League (N) MNA, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry appreciated the government's decision to hold another round of comprehensive briefing for the parliamentarians by a representative of government. Talking to TV, he said his party has some good ideas on the issue of terrorism, which it may extend during proposed briefing.
"Government should explain its policy whether or not it wants to continue those controversial agreements signed during Musharraf regime with other countries", he said. To a question he said that continuity of Pervez Musharraf's policy is no solution to the problems of the country. He said country was standing on a critical juncture of its history and there was dire need for enhanced unity among the political forces to put it on right track.
He said they will sincerely support the positive steps of the ruling coalition and at the same time they will raise their voice in opposition of certain steps which they think are not in the national interest. He urged the government to elaborate all such steps or agreements with other countries regarding so-called war on terror after post 9/11.
"We need to know how Pakistan was dragged into this war and we also need to know how war against terrorism turned out to be our war," he maintained. To a question he termed President's visit to China a positive step in further building the relations between the two friendly countries. He said he should also discuss current critical issues which we faced today also discuss the India-US nuclear deal.
He said the briefing given by Director Military Operations to the joint session of the Parliament was related to different aspects of military operation, underway over the last couple of years, however, the real issues were not dilated upon for which the joint session was convened, he added.
